Vehicle Story

This 1970 Pontiac GTO hardtop was built in the first week of December at the General Motors plant in Pontiac, Michigan. According to the seller, it has been fully restored. Features include Rally II wheels, redline tires, a rear wing, air conditioning, power steering, and front bucket seats. Power from the 400ci V8 is transferred to the road through a Muncie 4-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip rear differential. Refinished in Atoll Blue with a white vinyl top over a blue vinyl interior, this second-generation GTO is available now and comes with a duplicate window sticker, a list of factory options, records, and a clear Virginia title in the current owner's name.

The factory-correct Atoll Blue (paint code A) body is topped with a white vinyl roof and equipped with a twin-scoop hood, bright wheel arch and rocker trim, a body-color wing, and a chrome rear bumper.

A set of Rally II wheels with red center caps and redline tires connect the car to the road.

The all-blue vinyl interior features front bucket seats with headrests, a center console, a rear bench seat with lap belts, carpeting, rubber floor mats, and pleated door panel inserts. Metallic and simulated woodgrain trim highlights the dashboard. Other features include air conditioning, power steering, manual windows, and a push-button radio.

Vehicle information is displayed on a 140-mph speedometer and a multi-information gauge with a generator warning light and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer currently shows 80K miles, which the seller states is an accurate figure.

According to the seller, the 400ci V8 generates 350 horsepower. A Muncie 4-speed manual and a limited-slip rear differential send the engine's output to the road.

Photos showing the condition of the undercarriage are available in the gallery to the right.

A duplicate window sticker, a list of factory options, and records will be included as part of the sale.

AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 8/22/22 8:47 AM: The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed manual and the listing has been corrected to reflect this error.
