OVERVIEW
This 1947 Chrysler Windsor Club Coupe receives power from a 250ci inline-6 paired with a semi-automatic transmission with Fluid Drive. During the seller’s nearly three years of ownership, services performed include the replacement of the battery, a rebuild of the carburetor, and the installation of a new voltage regulator. Outlined in chrome trim and rolling on a set of new shocks and newer Coker whitewalls, this Windsor is finished in Forest Green Metallic over a green cloth interior and is now offered with a clear New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
This full-size 1947 Windsor two-door Club Coupe was repainted Forest Green Metallic under prior ownership. Its finishes are described as being in good condition although some areas have been repaired with body filler and there is evidence of the repaint upon closer inspection. The body is decorated in brightwork including the bumpers with guards, the hood ornament, multiple side spears, dual mirrors, and taillight garnishes. All exterior lights are operational.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
Color-matched 15-inch steel wheels with Chrysler-branded chrome hubcaps are set inside of newer Coker Classic whitewall tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with dual green cloth bench seats, matching carpeting, and complementary ivory fabric for the door panels and headliner. The body-color metal dash features Art Deco design elements. Amenities include an aftermarket floor console, AM radio, a heater, a tan vinyl mat, and a spare tire with associated jack equipment in the trunk. The seller notes that the analog clock and the cigarette lighter are not operational, there is a small hole in the headliner above the driver's seat, and there are some water stains showing on the headliner and the door panels.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
Vehicle information is delivered courtesy of a 110-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 88K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 250ci inline-6 was serviced with an oil change and fluid checks within the last 100 miles. There is no evidence of exhaust smoke per the seller. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the voltage regulator, a new battery, and a rebuild of the carburetor. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a column-shifted semi-automatic transmission with Fluid Drive.
Additional undercarriage photos are available in the carousel, some of these showing the addition of new shocks.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller notes that the car was purchased as a 1947 model, but that a Hagerty VIN check classifies this as a 1948 Windsor. The VIN number falls within the range of 1948 VIN numbers that starts with 70633017 and ends with 70717748.
