OVERVIEW
This steel-bodied 1933 Ford 5-window Coupe has been with the seller for 35 years and is powered by a 1974 351ci Ford Windsor V8 backed by a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Features include a chopped and filled roof; power windows, steering, and brakes; a tilt steering column; Vintage Air climate control; a CB radio; a stereo with a cassette player; and various parts from a 1974 Mercury Cougar XR7. This garage-kept Dark Jade Ford with multi-color flames and a tan vinyl and cloth interior is available now and comes with receipts, a California Car Cover, and a clear Indiana title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - PAINT AND FEATURES
The body and fenders of this build are original Ford steel finished in 1976 Ford Thunderbird Dark Jade with PPG Harlequin flames in 2000. Features include front nerf bars, dual headlights with chrome buckets and integrated turn signals, an original 1933 chrome grille, a 4-piece hood, a chopped (three inches at the front, 2.5 inches at the rear) and filled roof, a flush-fit front windshield, dual electric wipers, and dual color-keyed mirror caps. Additional features include a flush-mounted third brake light, a power antenna, a shaved trunk handle, frenched LED teardrop taillights, and a rear bumper delete. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of Billet Specialties polished aluminum wheels with lug covers and knock-offs is wrapped in radial tires with black sidewall lettering.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The bucket seats are upholstered in tan with cloth inserts. Features include matching interior panels, trim, and door panels; a sculpted headliner with cloth inserts; tan carpeting with a tan carpeted front floor mat; and power windows, steering, and brakes. Additional features include a Mercury Cougar XR7 steering wheel, a tilt steering column, engine-turned dashboard inserts, a Vintage Air Mark IV climate control system, and an older CB radio and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The interior of the trunk compartment is fully upholstered and matches the cabin interior. The seller notes that the air conditioning system does not cool and is believed to be low on freon.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, amps, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 38,700 miles, which the seller believes to be accurate for the drivetrain, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 1974 351ci Ford Windsor V8 connected to Trick Flow heads and a C4 automatic transmission. Underhood features include power steering and brakes, air conditioning, an electric fan, chrome valve covers, an oval-shaped air cleaner, a 4-barrel carburetor, a serpentine-belt accessory drive system, a Walker Cobra Coolmate radiator, green accent lighting, remote battery terminals, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds. The seller notes that the engine recently received an oil change and a new battery. A video of the engine idling can be seen below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The original 1933 Ford frame has been modified to accept a Super Bell I-beam front axle with a 4-inch drop, a chrome 4-bar setup, power steering, and a 9-inch Ford rear drive axle. The full-length dual-exhaust system's chrome tips exit at the rear. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.
