This R-code 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was built at Ford's San Jose, California plant on January 28, 1969, and sold on February 12 of the same year by Pollard Friendly Ford Co in Lubbock, Texas. Under previous ownership, the car was restored and repainted in its original color. In addition, the hood, 428ci Cobra Jet V8, brakes, and dual-exhaust system were replaced. The newer engine and the C6 3-speed automatic transmission have been overhauled. Features include hood pins, a shaker hood scoop, air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. Refinished in Indian Fire Red with black accents over a black vinyl interior, this Mach 1 is available from the selling dealer with a Marti Report and a clear title.
Under previous ownership, the hood was replaced and the exterior was repainted in the factory-correct Indian Fire Red (color code Y5). Accents include a hood black-out with a black perimeter stripe, black and yellow side stripes, and black rear striping. The car is equipped with chrome bumpers, dual round headlights and driving lights, hood pins, a shaker hood scoop, body-color mirror caps, and a new dual-exhaust system with quad outlets. According to the selling dealer, the chrome and brightwork are in great shape, but there are imperfections in the paint which are visible in the video in the gallery to the right.
Magnum 500-style 14-inch wheels with new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires connect the car to the road.
Inside, this Mach 1 comes furnished with black vinyl front bucket and dual rear seats, black door panels, a black dual-cowl dashboard, and black carpeting with red vinyl floor mats. Simulated woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, center stack, center console, and door panels. The selling dealer reports the air conditioning was not finished during the restoration process and that the AM/8-track radio does not power up.
Vehicle information is displayed on a 120-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and a fuel gauge. The selling dealer states the coolant temperature gauge is non-operational. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows 37K miles, but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
The replacement 428ci Cobra Jet V8 has been overhauled. It sends power to the pavement through an overhauled C6 3-speed automatic, a 3.00:1 rear axle ratio, and the back wheels.
Conveniences include power steering and brakes. The brakes and dual-exhaust system were replaced under previous ownership. Additional photos showing the condition of the underside are available in the gallery.
A Marti Report will be included with the sale of the vehicle. The selling dealer has posted a video in the gallery that shows the car in greater detail.

@getbackjack01 – Very nice R- code but being automatic kinda put a halt on my bidding on it ...
well these R Code cars are 70-90k all day long, so the price its at now leaves plenty of room to swap a 4 speed if you desire! Kind of joking with you, thanks for following the auction.
