Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible comes upgraded with a fuel-injected 502ci big-block V8 paired with a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and rides on an adjustable air suspension. It has been garage-kept by the seller for 20 years and features chrome Cragar wheels, a center console, a custom audio system, and modern gauges. Finished in black with a white retractable top over a black vinyl interior, this fourth-generation Impala is now offered with a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This Impala convertible from 1966 rides on General Motors’ B-platform chassis and has a straight body that is capped with a white cloth retractable top with a plastic rear window. It was the recipient of restoration and repainted black 20 years ago under current ownership. The exterior is accompanied by Super Sport badging consistent with body style code 16867 on the car’s trim tag. Features include bumper guards, beltline moldings, dual mirrors, wheel arch trim, and chrome-ribbed taillights.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Chrome five-spoke Cragar wheels are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is equipped with black vinyl buckets at the front and a bench in the rear, all matched to the door panels, console, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. Amenities include factory air conditioning and a custom stereo with speakers in the kick panels. The trunk contains the battery, an amplifier attached to a subwoofer enclosure, air suspension hardware, and a Nitrous Express bottle.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation is surrounded by an engine-turned aluminum bezel and includes newer gauges for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The odometer reads 250 miles. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 502ci big-block V8 crate engine is equipped with Ram Jet fuel injection and has been consistently maintained, according to the seller. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a Ford nine-inch rear end. The seller reports the air conditioning plumbing is in place, but the condenser is missing.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The body sits on an air suspension.

Questions: 1. Any Dyno Sheets? 2. Any verified documents to show Horsepower & Torque? 3. Rear Gear Ratio? 4. Posi-Traction? 5. Do you plan on posting any videos showing us what this engine is capable of? Thanks in advance for your reply.
