OVERVIEW
This 1965 Pontiac Bonneville convertible had its belts, suspension, speedometer, and fuel system serviced within the last two years. The Tri-Power 421ci V8 under the hood sends power to the road through a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission. Garage-kept for 18 years, this Bonneville comes with newer tires, a power antenna, and woodgrain interior trim. Refinished in the original Teal Turquoise with a white power-retractable cloth top over a two-tone Teal leather and Morrokide interior, it is now offered with the uninstalled factory air cleaner, service records, owner's booklets, a vehicle condition report, build sheets, production numbers, a convertible boot, and a clear California title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
According to the vehicle condition report from Special Interest Autos of British Columbia, Canada, this Bonneville convertible is one of only 876 produced with the 421ci V8. It was professionally repainted the original Teal Turquoise and has a power-retractable white top with a glass rear window. Exterior features include stacked headlights, chrome brightwork, a power antenna, rear wheel skirts, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 14-inch Kelsey Hayes wheels with Pontiac Motor Division center caps are wrapped in Kumho Solus tires installed in 2021.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with front and rear two-tone Teal leather and Morrokide benches, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Features include power windows, an AM/FM radio with reverb, simulated woodgrain trim, a heater, and floor mats.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Vehicle information is displayed on a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a non-operational clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 55K miles, which the seller states to be accurate and original mileage.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly numbers-matching YJ-code 421ci Tri-Power V8 with three two-barrel carburetors received work to the belts, hoses, fluids, and fuel system as shown in the receipts in the photo carousel to the right. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission and an eight-bolt Safe-T-Track rear differential. The video below shows the engine bay in greater detail.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The shock absorbers were replaced in November of 2021 and the bearings have been serviced. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes the uninstalled factory air cleaner, service records, owner's booklets, a vehicle condition report, build sheets, production numbers, and a convertible top boot.

@DAM51 – I would have loved to see a short video of the the functionality of the top. (The top go up and down) It's probably too late to post to this site, however if it's possible to send it to my Email address then please do. Thank you. @DAM51 ...

@DonQuixote52 – While seeing the motor is great, could you provide a video of it starting... running... driving also? Thanks ...
We have uploaded 3 videos as well as 6 photos just now!
@supersport – I certainly don’t doubt that this is a factory original 421 CI car, but I’ve owned quite a few Pontiac’s and several 65’s with a factory original 421 motor and they all had 421 markings on side of the car, either on the front fender or above the lower chrome molding, just behind the front wheel well. I was just curious, great looking poncho and best of luck with the auction! ...
Yes you are correct, the 421 are on most cars. Im the second owner and was told they never appeared on this car. Maybe because it was originally from Canada. In any event all numbers match. Another explanation and maybe the correct one is they were not returned after painting.
