Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This reportedly two-owner 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT is powered by a 400ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Features include a lift, power steering and brakes, four-wheel drive, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, air conditioning, and a swing-away spare tire carrier. Finished in Bright Yellow with a black fiberglass cap and a black vinyl interior with cloth inserts, this second-generation Bronco is available now and comes with a Deluxe Marti Report, documentation, and a clear California title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior is finished in Bright Yellow as verified by paint code 6 on the door tag and Deluxe Marti Report. That document states that this is 1 of 57 built with its particular paint and trim codes for the 1979 model year. Features include black bumpers, a bright aluminum grille with black headlight rings and grille insert, full-length bodyside trim, and folding side mirrors. Additional features include aftermarket step bars, a cowl-mounted antenna, a removable black fiberglass rear roof section, tinted rear glass, a swing-away spare tire carrier, dual taillights with integrated reverse lights, and a hitch receiver.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of black aftermarket wheels with manual locking front hubs is wrapped in radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The reupholstered front bench seat is covered in black vinyl with a solid black cloth insert. The folding rear seat is upholstered in black vinyl with a black, grey, and white striped fabric insert. Features include a black roll bar, black interior trim and door panels, black carpeting with black floor mats, a black steel dashboard with a black vinyl top pad, woodgrain inserts, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a column-mounted automatic shifter. Additional features include a floor-mounted transfer case shifter, manual windows, air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. According to the seller, a three-spoke steering wheel with a black grip has been installed.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

An 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the alternator, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 74K miles, which the seller states is an accurate figure.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 400ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. According to the seller, the battery, starter, and water pump were recently replaced. The video below shows the engine idling.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Bronco was factory-equipped with part-time four-wheel drive, a solid front axle with manual locking hubs, and a solid rear drive axle. An aftermarket suspension lift kit has been installed. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

@Shaynebradley – It drives well at freeway speeds? Thanks Shayne ...

Yes. Absolutely.

@SSR4007 – No known issues . As I stated in the description, the battery, starter and water pump were replaced earlier this year. I also installed a new A/C bracket and belt. The Bronco runs good but I never drove it on a long trip simply because I don't have the time. I owned it for almost 6 years and drove it less than 1000 miles. I submitted photos of any rust areas which are primarily in the door jam and on the bottom of the doors, but small amounts. It passed smog earlier this year as well. ...

Good afternoon to all. Thank You for your interest in my 1979 Bronco. I appreciate the bids and I hope we can find a new home that will truly appreciate this Bronco. It pains me to sell it but unfortunately I don't have room to store it inside anymore and I don't want to store it outside for obvious reasons. I've owned it for almost 6 years and drove it less than 1000 miles. It looks and runs great and is a true head turner. Good Luck to all !
