1964 1/2 FORD MUSTANG

OVERVIEW

This 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang convertible is equipped with a power-operated soft top, upgraded 14-inch American Racing wheels, and dual exhaust outlets. Inside, it features power steering and brakes, a center console, and aftermarket auxiliary gauges. Power is provided by a 289ci V8 and delivered to the road through an automatic transmission. Refinished in Victory Red with a black vinyl top over a red vinyl interior, this first-year Mustang is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a red top boot and a clear title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

This Mustang left Ford's Dearborn, Michigan factory with a Rangoon Red finish, according to color code J on the trim tag. It was subsequently repainted in Victory Red. The exterior is equipped with chrome bumpers, bright trim, reverse lights, and dual exhaust outlets. A power-operated black vinyl top with a plastic rear window covers the passenger compartment and fits under a red top boot. The selling dealer notes there is a dent in the passenger-side door that has been touched up.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 14-inch polished aluminum American Racing wheels is wrapped in GT Radial Touring VP Plus tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with red vinyl front bucket and rear bench seating as well as a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, carpeting, and door panel inserts. Features include vent windows, manual windows, front lap belts, power steering and brakes, an AM radio, and a center console. The selling dealer notes the wipers and blower fan are in working order.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

Vehicle information is displayed on a 120-mph speedometer, warning lights, and fuel level and coolant temperature gauges. The five-digit analog odometer shows 66K miles, but the actual mileage on this vehicle is unknown. Aftermarket coolant temperature and oil pressure gauges are mounted underneath the dashboard.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Under the hood is a D-code 289ci V8 connected to an Edelbrock air cleaner and an automatic transmission. Engine bay features include an export brace, a Monte Carlo bar, and an electric pusher fan.

UNDERCARRIAGE

According to the selling dealer, the torque boxes and other areas of the underbody show signs of rust and will need attention in the future. Per the selling dealer, the vehicle has spent some time in storage and could use a little TLC. Additional photos of the undercarriage are in the gallery to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Minnesota residents will be responsible for tax, license, and title procurement fees. Out-of-state buyers will only have to pay a $125 title procurement fee. A red top boot will be included with the car. The seller has posted a video that shows the car in greater detail below.
