Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1930 LaSalle 30-268 Convertible is powered by a 340ci V8 engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a swivel front driving light, an external passenger-side storage compartment, a rumble seat, a rear-mounted spare tire, and a convertible top. Finished in cream and brown with a tan folding top over a brown vinyl interior, this LaSalle is titled as a 1929 model year and comes from the selling dealer with uninstalled glass wing windows and a clear title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

As part of the restoration process, the exterior was refinished in cream and brown. Features include chrome bumpers, a central driving light connected to the steering, a grille guard, a chrome radiator shell, fender-mounted running lights, black running boards, a tan convertible top lined with red fabric, a passenger-side storage compartment, a rumble seat, a single rear taillight, and a rear-mounted spare tire with a Cadillac-branded cover. A detailed walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of orange wire wheels with stainless trim rings and center caps is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bench, rumble seat, trim, and door panels have been reupholstered in brown vinyl. Features include brown carpeting; brown carpeted floor mats; woodgrain trim; manual windows, brakes, and steering; a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter; and a tan steel dashboard with woodgrain trim and a patterned metal fascia.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, amps, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 43K miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The selling dealer notes that the horn has been rewired to a button above the steering column and that the fuel gauge is not working.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 340ci L-head V8 engine and backed by a three-speed manual transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Cadillac was factory-equipped with a solid I-beam front axle and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual drums.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Minnesota residents will be responsible for tax, license, and title procurement fees; out-of-state buyers will have to pay a $125 title procurement fee. The selling dealer will include uninstalled glass wing windows with the sale.

@John_s – When was restoration completed. Who did restoration? ...

This car came to us from a large collection. It has been stored in climate controlled storage for several years. The previous owner had passed away and unfortunately the family does not know when the car was finished. In looking at the car I would guess 20 years or so.
