OVERVIEW
This 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA hardtop is an older restoration equipped with a 390ci V8 that has been upgraded with a Holley carburetor, a competition camshaft, Hooker headers, an aluminum radiator, and a dual-exhaust system. Torque is sent to the rear 15-inch wheels via a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. Appointments include a custom audio system, a center console, and aftermarket auxiliary gauges. Refinished in red over a black vinyl interior, this fifth-generation Fairlane is now offered with transmission service records and a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly straight body was treated to a restoration that included a respray in the current shade of red with black lower-body striping. Features include stacked headlights, GTA badging, a driver-side mirror, and a dual-exhaust system with electric cut-outs and new mufflers. The seller states that the exterior chrome brightwork is in perfect condition.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 15-inch wheels are wrapped in newer BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires, sized 205/60 at the front and 245/60 at the rear.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is trimmed with black vinyl low-back bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, dash, headliner, and carpeting. Amenities include tinted windows, lap belts, GT badging, and an AM/FM/CD audio system with a trunk-mounted amplifier. The vinyl-lined trunk contains a spare tire and a 15-inch polished aluminum wheel that matches the exterior wheels.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge accompanied by auxiliary gauges that have been mounted above and below the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 12K miles, although the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 390ci V8 has been upgraded with a chrome intake manifold, a Holley 750-cfm carburetor, Hooker headers, a competition camshaft, an aluminum radiator, a high-flow water pump, and dual electric fans. Service was reportedly carried out in the summer of 2022 and included an oil change and a general check-up. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a nine-inch limited-slip rear end with 3.55 gearing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping comes from power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
