OVERVIEW
This 1965 Shelby Cobra Mk 4 roadster is a custom-built replica from Factory Five Racing that has been driven 2,123 miles since it was assembled four years ago. It is powered by a 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 coupled with a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and features a heater, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch wheels on Mickey Thompson tires, and side-exit exhaust outlets. Finished in metallic red with silver accent striping over a black vinyl interior, this Cobra replica is now offered with a Reconstructed Minnesota title showing a 2018 model year.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Mk 4 roadster replica was assembled from a kit that was inspired by the 1965 Shelby Cobra and developed at Factory Five Racing in Wareham, Massachusetts. It features laminate composite body panels, integral steel door frames, and aluminum panels for the cockpit, trunk, and engine bay. Red paint and silver accent striping were applied during the 2018 build process. Exterior features include a hood scoop, vented front fenders, side-exit exhaust pipes, 5.0 badging, a tubular roll hoop behind the driver's seat, and chrome brightwork.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum 17-inch wheels with knock-off caps are wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires sized 245/45 at the front and 315/35 at the rear.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats. Features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, five-point Simpson harnesses, a heater, and Dynamat sound-damping material.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is housed within the leather-covered dashboard and includes a 180-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level and voltage. The digital odometer reads 2,123 miles, which reflects the total mileage accrued since the build was completed.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Coyote 5.0-liter V8 was rated at 500 horsepower. Torque is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The car rides on a jig-welded four-inch round tube frame and an independent rear suspension. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
