OVERVIEW
This performance-built 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute two-door hardtop is powered by a big-block 396ci V8 mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Add-on equipment includes Hooker headers, FiTech fuel-injection, an MSD ignition system, and an exhaust system with electric cutouts. Finished in two-tone red and black over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Chevelle is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This 1967 Chevelle two-door hardtop reportedly retains its original body panels which have been recoated in two-tone red and black. The exterior is dressed in Super Sport 396 tribute badging, and panel fitment and finishes are described as straight throughout. Features include dual sideview mirrors, rocker moldings, and chrome brightwork.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Gloss black-finished 18-inch Boss aluminum wheels with polished lips are wrapped in newer Sumitomo tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The all-black interior is configured with reupholstered vinyl bucket seats up front, a center console, and a rear bench. The dash is accented in chrome trim, and amenities include a push-button radio, a heater, and lap belts.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is conveyed via a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and a column-mounted 8K-rpm tachometer. Additionally, triple gauges on the center stack monitor oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 53K miles, which the sellers states is actual, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The recently-built big-block 396ci V8 is equipped with performance upgrades including Hooker long-tube headers, a new camshaft, a FiTech fuel-injection system, a four-core aluminum radiator, new wiring, and an MSD ignition system. The exhaust system has electric cutouts and a 3-inch dual setup with a rear H-pipe. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.73-geared positraction rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel. The body rides on adjustable QA1 coilovers with tubular A-arms. Stopping power comes from four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes using Wilwood calipers and ventilated rotors, and handling is assisted by power steering.
