OVERVIEW
This 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 tribute is a performance coupe that draws torque from a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. It has been one-family-owned for more than 20 years and wears a GT350 visual treatment that includes a hood scoop and hood pins. Finished in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue striping over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with uninstalled parts and a clear Florida title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Mustang sport coupe from the model’s initial year was restored under prior ownership, a process that involved the exterior being repainted Wimbledon White and accented with Guardsman Blue striping. Add-on GT350-themed equipment includes a mesh grille insert, hood pins, a hood scoop, and rocker panel accents. Other features include a chin spoiler and a dual-exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum 14-inch five-spoke wheels with polished lips are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, lap belts, and a radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Information is presented via a central 140-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 40K miles, but the selling dealer states the actual mileage is closer to 60K. The true mileage is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 289ci V8 received a recent oil change and sends power to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from front disc and rear drum brakes. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes uninstalled parts as shown in the gallery.
@Sbuonauto – The prior owner that had it for 20 plus years had a real GT 350 and it was involved in an accident. He put this car together with all genuine GT 350 part that were salvageable . I am in the process of trying to gather all the information now on what was used. I will post as soon as it is available to me. ...
I do not see one original GT350 part in the pictures.
