OVERVIEW
This 1969 Volkswagen Beetle convertible is equipped with a walnut steering wheel, an AM radio, and chrome brightwork. It is powered by a rear-mounted 1,493cc flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Finished in red with a retractable black vinyl top over a black vinyl interior, this Beetle is now offered with a clear Colorado title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Beetle convertible’s reportedly rust-free red exterior is complemented by a black vinyl top. Features include chrome bumpers, rubber running board covers, dual mirrors, and dual polished exhaust outlets. The seller notes that some paint touch-ups have been performed.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with VW-branded chrome hub caps are wrapped in blackwall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with black vinyl low-back bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching door panels. Amenities include a walnut-rimmed steering wheel; wooden accents for the dash buttons, shift knob, and emergency brake handle; a push-button AM radio; map pockets; and a spare tire in the front compartment. The seller notes that there is a small hole in the driver's seat upholstery.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer with an inset fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 90,071 miles, which the seller states is accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The rear-mounted air-cooled 1,493cc flat-four reportedly runs well and received a carburetor cleaning, a new oil separator, and new spark plugs during the seller’s six months of ownership. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transaxle.
