OVERVIEW
This 1930 Ford Model A is powered by a 1970 Ford 302ci V8 engine backed by a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a chopped and filled roof, a 1932 Ford radiator shell and insert, a tilt steering column, a chrome dropped front axle, manual front disc brakes, and bucket seats. Finished in black over a red vinyl interior, this Model A is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a bill of sale and transferable Maine registration.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior of this reportedly rust-free Model A was refinished in black in 2022. Features include a 1932 Ford radiator shell and insert, dual frame-mounted halogen headlights with turn signals, an exposed engine bay, a windshield visor, a three-inch top chop, a filled roof insert, a filled rear body panel with a license plate mount, and LED 1950 Pontiac taillights. The selling dealer notes that a few minor scratches can be seen in the paint.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of aluminum American Racing wheels is wrapped in new 205/70/15 front and 31/10.50/15 rear Kelly tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The red vinyl bucket seats were sourced from a first-generation Mustang. Interior features include black vinyl interior trim and door panels, black carpeting, black rubber floor mats, a floor-mounted Lokar automatic shifter, manual steering, and manual brakes. Additional features include a tilt steering column and a billet aluminum banjo steering wheel. The factory fuel tank is under the dashboard and a newer fuel cell is located in the trunk. The doors do not have window glass installed and are latched with Bear Claw latches that release from the bottom. The exterior door handles are cosmetic only.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A first-generation Mustang 120-mph speedometer is built into a custom pod in the steel dashboard and is surrounded by gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 64,891 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. According to the selling dealer, the speedometer comes with a cable, but it will need to be connected to a C4 transmission adapter to be operational.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 1970 Ford 302ci V8 equipped with post-1970 heads, an upgraded camshaft, and roller rockers. Engine output is backed by a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. The exposed engine features black cast aluminum valve covers with brushed fins, an aluminum intake, a four-barrel Edelbrock AVS-2 carburetor with an electric choke, a polished aluminum air scoop, and chrome tube headers. Additional features include a chrome alternator, a polished aluminum overflow tank, polished aluminum accessory drive pulleys, a stainless steel fan shroud, and a smooth body-color firewall.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The original frame has been modified with a five-inch Z kick-up and finished in black to accept a Speedway chrome I-beam front axle with a four-inch drop and a chrome manual Vega steering box. The rear features an eight-inch Ford solid drive axle mounted with coil-over shocks and long ladder bars. The body floors have been replaced with all-new metal. Front discs and rear drums bring this vehicle to a stop. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.
