Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1968 Dodge Coronet two-door hardtop underwent a mechanical and cosmetic restoration and received a fresh interior, Magnum 500-style wheels, a Flowmaster exhaust system, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. It is powered by a year-correct Mopar 383ci V8 paired with an A833 four-speed manual transmission. Finished in B5 Blue over a two-tone blue vinyl interior, this fifth-generation Coronet is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Illinois title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

This Coronet two-door hardtop reportedly originated in New Mexico and has a rust-free body that was restored and coated in Blue (B5). White accent striping and Super Bee decals were added to the rear end. Additional features include a full-width grille, quad headlights, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Magnum 500-style American Racing alloy wheels with black pockets are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The refurbished interior is fitted with two-tone blue vinyl front and rear benches, matched to the door panels, carpeting, and dash. Amenities include a Hurst shifter, lap belts, Super Bee floor mats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a heater, and an AM push-button radio.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Vehicle information is displayed on a 150-mph speedometer, a Tic-Toc-Tach, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 1K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The Super Bee-correct 383ci V8 reportedly shows a casting date of February 1968. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted A833 four-speed manual transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Braking is power-assisted.

@Voodoo – Are there any blemishes in the paint. If so could we see some photos ...

Attached are the two know. Blemishes. I want to attest these to having moisture in the line when it was painted. Not rust, just seems like a user error. One photo is the drivers top of the quarter, bottom of the roof line. The next photo is the top of the passenger door. Neither are severe but worthy of noting

@ppalko – What year was car restored and repainted? ...

I don't have an exact date but I would assume only a few years ago.
