OVERVIEW
This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle coupe underwent a five-year restoration and is powered by an upgraded 1,600cc flat-four coupled with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes pop-out rear windows, whitewall tires, chrome trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Refinished in black over a red vinyl interior, this Beetle is now offered with black California license plates and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This compact Beetle coupe was treated to a five-year body-off restoration and recoated in its reportedly original black. Exterior accents include chrome brightwork, dual side mirrors, a metal sunroof, pop-out rear windows, 1300 badging, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller has provided an image from the restoration process in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Red 15-inch steel wheels with chrome hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with reupholstered red vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. The same materials cover the door panels. The dash, steering wheel, lap belts, and carpeting were redone in black.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 1,068 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The rear-mounted 1,600cc flat-four replaced the car’s original 1,300cc motor and transfers power to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transaxle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Pictures showing the underside are available in the photo carousel.
