OVERVIEW
This 1956 Buick Special Riviera underwent a four-year frame-off restoration completed in 2010. It is powered by a rebuilt 322ci Nailhead V8 engine backed by a rebuilt Dynaflow automatic transmission. Features include rebuilt power steering, Vintage Air climate controls, re-chromed bumpers, and polished stainless trim. Finished in coral and white over a black cloth and white vinyl interior, this Buick is available now and comes with a clear California title.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
During the four-year restoration, the exterior was refinished in coral and white. Features include re-chromed bumpers, cleaned and polished stainless trim, dual side mirrors, Buick Special emblems, gas door trim, and a rear trunk emblem.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black steel wheels with full Buick hub caps is wrapped in whitewall tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bench seat and the rear seat are upholstered in black cloth and white vinyl. Features include manual brakes, power steering, Vintage Air Mark IV climate controls, and manual windows.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. Aftermarket gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature are located below the dashboard. The odometer reads 4,960 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 322ci Nailhead V8 engine and backed by a Dynaflow automatic transmission. Underhood features include a blue engine block, intake, heads, and valve covers; a black oil-bath air cleaner; and vacuum-operated windshield wipers. The engine, transmission, and power steering have been rebuilt.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Buick was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. The rear end was rebuilt as part of the restoration process. Braking is provided by power drum brakes.
