This steel-bodied 1940 Ford Coupe is finished in School Bus Yellow over a cognac leather interior and is powered by a supercharged, performance-tuned small block Chevrolet V8 mated to a TH400 automatic transmission. Modifications include a chopped and shaved body, a custom 4-link suspension with coil-overs, disc brakes, stainless steel dual exhaust system, a Gennie shifter, Vintage Air, and an aftermarket stereo system. This Coupe is offered with a clean California title in the seller's name.
A custom chassis sits underneath a modified, and shaved factory Ford steel body finished in School Bus Yellow with ghost flames. Body modifications were performed at Nick's Old Car Specialty in Redlands, California, and consist of a 2'' chop, laid back windshield posts to lengthen the rear and side quarter windows, a chopped, one-piece steel hood, and dual stainless-steel exhaust system.
Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and a staggered stance comes by way of a narrowed rear end with 15"x13" custom wheels wrapped in 31"x16.5" Mickey Thompson tires and 15"x6" wheels wearing 195/60 BFGoodrich rubber up front. Additional modifications include beadless fenders, custom front fender inner pans, and motorcycle mirrors.
The interior upholstery is finished in 'tuck and roll' fashion featuring cognac-colored leather imported from Sweden. A custom-built dash matches the exterior color and houses a set of Moon gauges and ducting for the Vintage air conditioning system.
An upholstery-matching Lokar Lecarra steering wheel and wool carpeting are fitted, along with a head unit housed in the glove box and a set of Clarion door-mounted stereo speakers. All wiring is reported to have been professionally refreshed during the build. Approximately 1,870 miles have been added since the work was performed.
The small-block Chevrolet V8 was professionally-machined at Dougan's Engine & Machine in Riverside, California, is topped with a polished Weiand 6-71 blower, and fitted with a Barry Grant 750 cfm carburetor, COMP Cams camshaft, forged crankshaft, ported and polished BRODIX Track 1 heads with stainless steel valves and springs, valve covers with Billet Specialties breathers, custom polished 1-7/8" stainless steel headers, Crower aluminum 1.5:1 rockers, Eagle Special Products I-Beam connecting rods, and JE 7:1 pistons with Speed Pro rings. Additional components include an MSD ignition and Billet distributor, Edelbrock Victor Aluminum water pump, six-blade stainless cooling fan, cross-flow radiator, 65-amp alternator, and a Melling high-volume oil pan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a "polished" TH400 automatic transmission, Ford 9" rear end with 3.73:1 gears, and an aluminum driveshaft. The car sits on a TCI four-link, coil-over suspension and is handled by rack and pinion steering. A stainless steel Borla exhaust system and fuel tank are fitted as well.
The car appeared in a previous issue of Street Rodder Magazine, a framed acrylic display board is included in the sale.

Changed the oil yesterday and test drove it! Owner
Not that I am aware of. Owner
Is there anything on this car that needs service or repair?
@DrHawc – Will the car fit on a standard size u-haul auto trailer? ...
I don’t think so, the rear tires are 12”s wide. I think it must be a enclosed car hauler or flat bed .
A ton of money must have gone into this rod. Custom fabrication everywhere. You can't build one for the high bid of $57K that was just posted. Hope going no reserve gets you near what you want. By the way, how does anyone not realize that "annoying hum" isn't a blower? Sweet music to my ears and exhaust note is great.

@Mac51 – How about that annoying hum. Nice ride but that hum... thanks ...
The hum sounds like the blower to me
@DrHawc – You done a nice job showcasing this beauty, could you please post a video of you starting it, showing the engine idling and the exhaust note. Hearing it run would be greatly appreciated. ...
