Reserve Removed: 1966 DODGE CORONET 500

OVERVIEW

This restored 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 is powered by a period-correct 1968 383ci V8 backed by an overhauled 727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, upgraded front disc brakes, factory air conditioning, bucket front seats, and a center console. Refinished in Dark Red Metallic with a black vinyl top over a black vinyl interior, this Coronet 500 is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

As part of a restoration performed 14 years ago, the exterior was refinished in the original color of Dark Red Metallic (code QQ1). It features chrome bumpers, a split grille with quad headlights, a black vinyl top, wheel well trim, a black rear accent stripe, and trunk trim with a Dodge emblem. The selling dealer states that there is some paint popping on the bottom of some of the car's lower panels.  A full walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome Magnum 500-style wheels is wrapped in redline radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include a black center console with an automatic transmission shifter, power steering, manual brakes and windows, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, factory air conditioning, and an AM radio. The selling dealer states that the air conditioning and radio are not working.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. Additional aftermarket gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature are mounted at the front of the center console. The odometer shows 109,000 miles, which the selling dealer believes is an accurate figure. Only 3,000 of those miles were reportedly added by the most recent owner in their eight years of ownership.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a period-correct 1968 383ci V8 and backed by a 727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission that was previously overhauled. Features include chrome valve covers, a chrome K&N air cleaner, and light blue engine block paint. 

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Coronet was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Upgraded manual front disc brakes and rear drums help bring the car to a stop.
