OVERVIEW
This restored GTO-style 1967 Pontiac LeMans convertible is powered by a rebuilt 1972 Pontiac 455ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission. Features include power steering, front disc brakes, later-model bucket front seats, a center console, and a newer steering gearbox. Finished in Brandy Wine Metallic and equipped with a power convertible top over a white vinyl interior, this LeMans is available now and comes from the selling dealer with the original Protect-O-Plate, maintenance records, and a clear Wisconsin title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the restoration completed in 2015, the car was equipped with new body panels and trunk and floor pans, then refinished in Brandy Wine Metallic. Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, a functioning hood-mounted tachometer, a fender-mounted antenna, a power convertible top, a convertible top boot, wheel well and rocker moldings, a driver-side mirror, GTO emblems, and rear body trim. The selling dealer states that new door hinges have been installed. A detailed walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of steel Pontiac Rally II wheels with chrome center caps and stainless trim rings is wrapped in Grand Am Radial G/T front and Hankook Ventus H101 rear tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The later-model front bucket seats, the rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in white vinyl. Features include a center console with an automatic transmission shifter, simulated woodgrain accents, GTO emblems, power steering, manual brakes, manual windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights for the coolant temperature, battery, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. A set of three AutoMeter Auto Gage readouts for the oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature is located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 81,437 but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 1972 Pontiac Bonneville 455ci V8 that was rebuilt in 2018, bored .030 over, and equipped with roller-rocker hydraulic lifters. Output is reportedly 385-390 horsepower. The engine has accrued fewer than 1,000 miles since being rebuilt and routes its power through an automatic transmission. Underhood features include an aluminum intake, a newer electronic ignition, a newer distributor, an 800-cfm Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a chrome air filter, and chrome Moroso valve covers. A tune-up was recently performed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This LeMans was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust system with new mufflers exits at the rear. The selling dealer states that a new steering gearbox and driveshaft U-joints have been installed and the transmission crossmember has been reinforced. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include the original Protect-O-Plate and maintenance records with the purchase of the car.
