OVERVIEW
This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is powered by a 289ci V8 crate engine mated to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. It reportedly resided long-term in Texas and was subsequently owned in British Columbia and Arizona. Equipment includes power front disc brakes, a radio, a center console, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in Raven Black with a black retractable top over a red vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered with service records and a clear Tennessee title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Raven Black body (color code A) is capped off with a black power-retractable top and accented with red pinstripes. Additional features include chrome brightwork, dual side mirrors, mud flaps, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 14-inch steel wheels with wire hubcaps are wrapped in 195/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with red vinyl low-back bucket seats up front, a center console, and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include lap belts and a push-button radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Vehicle information is provided through a 140-mph speedometer surrounded by gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 52,433 miles, but the true mileage on this car is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The crate-sourced 289ci V8 was installed within the last 20,000 miles. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted C4 three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Steering is power-assisted. Stopping power comes from power front disc brakes and rear drums.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The car comes with service records from previous owners.

Beware of that six cylinder rear end with v8 power. They are known to break and make the car unmovable with no warning. Luckily, v8 rear ends are fairly easy to come by and replacement is fairly simple. Looks like that would complete a pretty nicely done v8 conversion.
@Jackmc1969 – Is the car road worthy to make a road trip to Dallas , Tx if I win the bid? ...
Totally road worthy, serviced last year. We haven't driven it much at all since buying it in 2019. Will take it in before it leaves and have it completely checked out.
@acasteel – How is the body of the car rust wise ...
Nothing that we've noticed. Maybe a little bit on the surface in the some undercarriage.

Going through the file of paperwork, the first service record I found with milage when it entered Canada in 2009 was 22,695. We have no earlier records on the car when it was in Texas.

@jrrichi – The VIN shows its a T code. Did the V8 conversion also include drivetrain and rearend? ...
Thanks for your interest. The rear does not appear to have been updated when the V-8 was installed. The rear end tag is WCY-R which is a 2.83 non posi. I'll try to get it up on a lift tomorrow and confirm. Here's a photo of the tag. Thanks
