OVERVIEW
This one-family-owned 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook is an older restoration powered by a 218ci flathead inline-six engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a six-volt electrical system and manual steering and brakes. Finished in dark green over a two-tone green cloth interior, this Plymouth is available now and comes with a clear Colorado title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
According to the seller, this car was restored approximately 25 years ago. The exterior is finished in dark green and features chrome bumpers with bumper guards, a chrome grille, a hood ornament, a driver-side mirror, accent trim, and chrome door handles.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of steel wheels with Plymouth hub caps is wrapped in radial tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bench seat, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in dark green and light green cloth. Features include manual steering and brakes, manual windows, a column-mounted manual shifter, a three-spoke steering wheel with a 360-degree horn ring, a radio block-off plate, and a heater. The seller notes that the transmission has difficulty getting into reverse and first.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, amps, oil pressure, and temperature are located ahead of the driver. The non-functional odometer reads 32,701 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power comes from a 218ci flathead inline-six engine and is backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include an oil-bath air filter and a six-volt electrical system.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Plymouth was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Manual drums bring the car to a stop. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This vehicle was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller.
Congrats. That's a good one. Enjoy!!

@GlenP – The car runs/drives very well. ...
The last time I took the car out it drove/ handled very well, which was Oct of 2022. The brakes felt a little soft, but it stopped well. It is probably due for some routine maintenance.

The steering is very good. The motor runs smoothly at 55 MPH and above. The suspension feels fine to me. With a 70-year-old car, it of course does not handle like a new car. It will go faster than 55 MPH but it is a personal matter of safety as to whether one does so. Is there some other aspect of handling that you would like me to speak to?

Hi bidders and watchers) Don't let this pass you by! This has been in our family since it was purchased near Jackson Hole in 1953. It really is an amazing car. It needs to get up to reserve for some buyer to win this gem. Almost there!!!! You bids and interest are very appreciated.

This is one of those cars that I wish was at an in-person auction. Pictures and descriptions do not do this beauty justice. When the motor is started it purrs and when it rolls down the highway it is a very graceful ride. The steering is tight and the motor is so responsive. The car has been properly stored and kept out of the sun and elements since her restoration and there is still sparkle in her paint. It is rare to find a one-family car like this although it has come through the generations. I really want to encourage interested parties who would like a really great car to jump in on the bidding. I would to see this heirloom and symbol of our family make reserve (and beyond) and move to a new, proud owner.
