This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is finished in black over a two-tone red and silver interior and is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission. The car underwent a high-level frame-off restoration with no expense spared. Equipment includes power steering & brakes, a modern audio system, and a new power convertible top. Located in Alsip, Illinois, this Bel Air is now offered by the selling dealer on a clean Illinois title.
The car is finished in black and has been fully restored to show-level condition with even panel fitment and gaps throughout. It is equipped with a power-operated white convertible top with a plastic rear window and matching boot cover. All chrome pieces were replated, including the bumpers, window trim, and taillight bezels. The side trim pieces were polished and free of any pitting or dents, while the front features a gold grille and "V" emblem on the hood, unique to the Bel Air trim level. Additional equipment includes dual side-view mirrors, antennas, and exhaust outlets at the rear.
Factory 14” steel wheels with spinner chrome hubcaps are mounted to Coker wide whitewall radial tires on all four corners. The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes.
The interior is fitted with two-tone red and silver bench seating front and rear with matching door panels and red carpet. The red dashboard features an aluminum trim plate running its entire width and Bel Air logo near the glove compartment on the passenger side. A modern audio system from Custom Auto Sound has been fitted in the factory location and includes iPod and auxiliary connectivity. Additional factory features include a two-speed electric windshield wiper system and a tissue dispenser mounted below the dash.
Instrumentation is framed within a gauge cluster that includes a round 120-mph speedometer along with gauges at each side for coolant temperature and fuel level. There is an in-dash analog clock on the passenger side. The five-digit odometer reads 13k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 283ci V8 is original to the car and has was rebuilt during the restoration. It is factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, which was also rebuilt. The radiator was also replaced, and the car is fully sorted mechanically. The engine bay cosmetics were also addressed with the firewall, inner fenders, and air cleaner finished in black while the block, heads, valve covers, and intake manifold are finished in orange. Factory correct hardware and hoses used during restoration. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
The underside was fully restored with all components refinished or replated. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
