OVERVIEW
This four-wheel-drive 1982 Land Rover Series III was built under license by the Spanish company Santana Motor and imported into the U.S. It received a minor cosmetic restoration and upgrades such as halo-style headlights, new Hella LED auxiliary lights, an LED light bar, an engine snorkel, and a secondary electric vacuum brake booster. New parts include the upgraded glow plugs, brakes, handbrake shoes, seals, and hydraulic clutch master cylinder. The 2.25-liter four-cylinder diesel engine was recently serviced and comes paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. Finished in ivory and equipped with a matching fiberglass roof over a black vinyl interior with rear jump seats, this Land Rover is available now and comes with the original bill of sale, documentation, original manuals, shop manuals, a parts catalog, a hand-start crank lever, other tools, uninstalled service items, and a clear Maryland title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free ivory exterior was cosmetically restored and retains its original two-speed trio of windshield wipers and the factory-installed rear wiper and electric washer pump. Add-ons include halo-style headlights, new Hella LED auxiliary lights, an LED light bar, body armor, and an engine snorkel. The matching fiberglass roof features functional fresh air scoops and a single-tier roof rack with a rear-mounted ladder.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
This Land Rover rolls on a set of ivory wheels and blackwall tires. A matching spare is mounted at the rear. According to the seller, the tires have a significant amount of tread remaining and they have been balanced. In addition, the vehicle has been aligned.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl seating consisting of two front buckets and two pairs of side-mounted rear jump seats. According to the seller, all seats have been equipped with lap belts. Other features include a two-speed heater, new switches, manual window cranks, and new Land Rover front floor mats.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
Vehicle information is displayed on a 150-km/h speedometer and a combination gauge with fuel level and coolant temperature readouts. The odometer shows 139,000 kilometers (86,371 miles), which is accurate, according to the seller.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power from the reportedly numbers-matching 2.25-liter inline-four diesel engine is sent to the wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. The seller states the engine has newer rings and bearings, upgraded glow plugs, new seals, and new oil and fuel filters. The injection timing has been addressed, the oil-bath air filter has been serviced, and the valve tappets have been adjusted. In addition, a new hydraulic clutch master cylinder has been installed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The power braking system is equipped with a secondary electric vacuum booster. Updates include new brakes, hydraulic cylinders, and handbrake shoes.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The original bill of sale, documentation, original manuals, shop manuals, a parts catalog, a hand-start crank lever, other tools, and uninstalled service items such as an oil filter come with the purchase of the vehicle.
