OVERVIEW
This performance-built 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible receives power from an upgraded small-block 355ci V8 mated to a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a Quick Performance 9-inch rear end with a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes Edelbrock fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, a Walbro fuel pump, Hooker headers, and a stainless steel dual exhaust system. Finished in metallic dark green with a green cloth retractable top over a tan leather interior, this third-generation Camaro is now offered with uninstalled armrests, a CARFAX report, and Connecticut registration in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The metallic dark green exterior is complemented by a new green cloth retractable top. Exterior equipment includes LED headlights, clear side marker lights, RS decals, and AeroCatch hood pins. The seller states that the body has no rust issues aside from small spots of surface rust near chips in the paint, which is reportedly original. Duplicolor touch-up paint has been applied accordingly.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The IROC-style 16-inch aluminum wheels are wrapped in Hankook and new Kumho Ventus tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The 2+2 cockpit is fitted with tan leather bucket seats up front, two seats in the rear, and matching door panels, carpeting, and floor mats. The black dash is said to be free of cracks. Features include a Hawks short-throw shifter, a RetroSound Newport Bluetooth-enabled radio with USB charging ports, and LED under-dash lights.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and supporting gauges for the oil pressure, fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reportedly shows 1,500 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller states that the estimated mileage on the vehicle is approximately 65,000.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The small-block 355ci V8 has reportedly received regular service and accrued fewer than 2,000 miles since installation. The CARFAX report states that the vehicle was serviced in March 2021. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 rear differential.
Modifications are as follows:
- Lunati Bracket Master II camshafts - 246/246 @ .050
- 58cc heads
- 2.02 intake valves and 1.60 exhaust valves
- Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 self-tuning electronic fuel injection system
- Stainless steel intake tube with K&N air filter
- Frostbite two-row aluminum radiator and twin Derale Performance electric fans
- Dakota Digital fan controller
- Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
- Walbro 255-lph fuel pump
- Antigravity lithium-ion battery
- Hooker headers with 1 ¾-inch tubes and 3-inch collectors
- Hooker Blackheart stainless steel 2.5-inch dual exhaust
- Hooker Blackheart transmission crossmember
- Quick Time bellhousing
- Ram Clutches 168-tooth flywheel, clutch, and hydraulic throwout bearing
- Quick Performance 9-inch rear end
- Eaton Trutrac limited-slip differential with 4:11:1 gears
- Quick Performance axle
- Yukon Gear & Axle third member
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis has been upgraded with a UMI Performance tubular K-member, UMI Performance front A-arms, and UMI Performance adjustable rear control arms. Additional equipment includes a Founders Performance adjustable panhard bar, a Detroit Speed front sway bar and wonder bar, UMI Performance weight jacks, Koni yellow struts all around, a Spohn adjustable torque arm, Alston inner subframe connectors, and newer front-end components. Stopping power comes from LS1-spec 13-inch front disc brakes and 12-inch rear disc brakes with an electric vacuum pump and new front and rear lines. The seller notes an issue with excessive turning angle due to the upgraded lower UMI Performance control arms.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report shows an accident on record in 1994 with damage to the passenger side. The vehicle passed a New York safety and emissions inspection in 2020. The sale includes uninstalled armrests.
