Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS has been with the seller for 14 years and is powered by a 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 backed by a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Features include air conditioning, power steering, a hidden Pioneer digital AM/FM/CD stereo, a power convertible top, bucket seats, and a tilt steering column. Finished in Lemonwood Yellow and equipped with a black vinyl convertible top over a black vinyl interior, this reportedly rust-free Impala SS is available now and comes with the removed original wheels and SS spinner hub caps and a clear Texas title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior is finished in the factory color of Lemonwood Yellow (code Y), as verified by the trim tag. Features include chrome bumpers, an aluminum grille, 327 and Super Sport emblems, mid-body and rocker trim, wheel well trim, dual mirrors, a power black vinyl convertible top with a glass rear window, a black vinyl convertible top boot, and rear body trim. The seller states that the exterior has small chips in the paint and a gouge in the driver-side rear quarter panel.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch Vision Wheel American Muscle 141 Legend 5 aluminum wheels with grey centers and brushed lips is wrapped in 225/60/15 Falken Ziex radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering, manual windows and brakes, and a center console that houses an automatic transmission shifter and a locking storage compartment. Additional features include a black vinyl convertible top boot, air conditioning, an accessory tissue dispenser, a tilt steering column, an AM radio, a hidden Pioneer AM/FM/CD digital stereo, and Impala SS emblems. The seller states that the air conditioning needs to be recharged.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a fuel gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. Gauges for the voltage, manifold vacuum, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located at the front of the center console under the dashboard. With 7,000 miles logged during ownership, the odometer reads 41,540 miles, which the seller believes to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a reportedly original 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 and backed by a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include orange stamped steel valve covers, an orange cast iron intake, a black closed-element air cleaner, and a windshield washer with a glass bottle refill. A tune-up, including plugs, cap, and wires, was completed one year ago. The seller states that an oil change will be completed prior to the sale. Oil leaks are reportedly present.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Impala was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The removed original wheels and SS spinner hub caps will be included as part of the sale.

@Darkwaves – All original and immaculately maintained. Replaced entire electrical harness a few months ago front to back. Only thing that did not work was clock and I have a replacement clock and clock harness which would be included ...

@Darkwaves Thank you sir, I appreciate your prompt reply.

AC needs recharging? Meaning it probably has leaks and needs repair. Why wouldnt you take care of that before trying to sell it? And why did a low mileage car need ALL electrical front to back? Was there a fire? Also, 6 years is about it on tire life these days, regardless of wear.

@TomL – Dont see many of these. Can you tell me the age of the tires? And does the ac/heat system work well? Any work/repairs needed or done recently? Thanks ...

Tires are about 6 years old and no major issues. As mentioned in other question. All electrical was done front to back. Heat works and AC needs recharge. Clock does not work but have harness and replacement clock
