OVERVIEW
This 1983 Ford Bronco was given a body-off restoration in Colombia before being imported into the U.S. in 2022. It is powered by a refurbished 4.9-liter inline-six engine backed by a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Features include part-time four-wheel drive, replacement air conditioning hardware, power windows, power front disc brakes, power steering, and 33-inch tires. Finished in midnight blue with a black removable rear hardtop over a reupholstered gray vinyl interior, this Bronco is available now and comes with importation documents, Columbian registration, restoration photos, a clean CARFAX Report, and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
During the frame-off restoration, the exterior was refinished in midnight blue. Features include re-chromed bumpers, a black removable hard top, tinted windows, dual folding mirrors, rear tailgate trim, and a ball hitch.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of polished aluminum 15-inch Vossen wheels is wrapped in 33" x 12.5″ APlus Mud Terrain A929 tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front captain’s chairs and the rear bench seat were reupholstered in new gray vinyl in 2022. Features include power windows, power steering and brakes, a center console with a locking compartment and cup holders, a floor-mounted Momo extended transfer case handle, and a JDL stereo. The tilt steering column, steering wheel, and the air conditioning compressor and evaporator have been replaced. The seller notes that the heater is not working properly.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
An 85-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 92,600 kilometers (~57,400 miles), which the seller believes to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a refurbished 4.9-liter inline-six engine backed by a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Underhood features include a new chrome brake master cylinder power booster, a chrome air filter housing, a new radiator, a new battery, and an HEI distributor. Videos of the vehicle starting and being driven can be seen below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Bronco was factory-equipped with an independent part-time four-wheel-drive front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. The body was removed from the frame during the 2022 restoration. A new gas tank has been installed and the driveshaft U-joints have been replaced. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. The seller notes that the brake pads, rotors, and wheel cylinders are new. A single exhaust system exits at the rear with dual tips.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This vehicle was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The CARFAX report starts in September 1982 and shows an accident-free history with ownership in Florida. There is a gap in reporting between 1982 and 2022. The seller will include importation documents, Colombian registration, and restoration photos with the vehicle.
