1980 Toyota FJ Cruiser

OVERVIEW

This 1980 Delta Mini Cruiser was built under license from Toyota by Philippines-based Delta Motors and restored in Colombia before being imported into the U.S. in August 2022. It is powered by a 12R-M 1.6-liter inline-four engine backed by a rebuilt manual four-speed transmission and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case. Features include a four-wheel disc brake conversion, part-time four-wheel-drive, reclining bucket seats, a removable soft top, 31-inch Unigrip tires, a pintle trailer hitch, and a swing-away spare tire. Finished in matte metallic gray with a tan canvas top over a dark grey leather interior, this reportedly rust-free Delta Mini Cruiser is available now and comes with importation and EPA documentation and a clear Florida title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

During the restoration in Colombia, the exterior was refinished in matte metallic gray. Features include a replacement black front bumper, front tow hooks, LED headlights, a folding windshield, diamond-plate side steps, dual side mirrors, Toyota Land Cruiser badging, a tan canvas removable soft top with plastic windows, and a swing-away spare tire with a black vinyl cover. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch black steel wheels is wrapped in 31x10.50 Unigrip Road Force M/T radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The dark grey leather reclining front and rear seats were sourced from a late-model Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Features include a black vinyl floor covering, floor-mounted manual transmission and transfer case shifters, a touchscreen stereo with remote control, rear-mounted aftermarket stereo speakers, and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado steering wheel and column. According to the seller, the windshield washer pump does not work and the sun visors are missing.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

According to the seller, this Toyota is equipped with a 140-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges. With 8,000 kilometers (4,971 miles) added under current ownership, the odometer reads 40,000 kilometers (24,855 miles). The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 1.6-liter 12R-M inline-four engine and backed by a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case. The seller states that the battery and battery cables have been replaced.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mini Cruiser was factory-equipped with part-time four-wheel drive, a solid front axle with manual locking hubs, and a solid rear drive axle. Upgraded four-wheel disc brakes help bring the vehicle to a stop. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. The chassis was coated with a rust inhibitor during the restoration process.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This vehicle was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The seller will include importation and EPA documentation with the vehicle.
