Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1948 Chevrolet Coupe is a $125,000 build by Trophy Ride Customs of Wilmington, North Carolina, according to the seller. It is powered by a 350ci V8 backed by a 700R4 four-speed transmission. Features include power disc brakes, air suspension, one-piece power windows, power rack-and-pinion steering, a Heidts Mustang II independent front suspension, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a JVC stereo. Finished in Meridian Copper over a two-tone tan Ultraleather interior, this Chevrolet is available now and comes with a clear Virginia title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior has been refinished in Meridian Copper with a White Gold clear coat and custom pinstriping. Features include Briz polished aluminum bumpers, a 1947 Chevrolet chrome grille, shaved hood trim, a flush-fit V-butt windshield, electric windshield wipers, a driver-side mirror, shaved door handles, tinted glass, one-piece door windows, and molded front and rear fenders. The seller notes a spot on the rear driver's side has been touched up and that the driver-side door was not completely closed in some of the photos.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of five-spoke Billet Specialties wheels is wrapped in low-profile Kumho radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The six-way power front bucket seats, rear bench seat, rear trim, and custom door panels are upholstered in two-tone tan Ultraleather. Features include power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering column, a four-spoke aluminum steering wheel, a JVC stereo, Vintage Air climate controls, and a floor-mounted Lokar automatic shifter.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The AutoMeter and VDO gauges include a 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. With 100 miles added during the seller's five years of ownership, the odometer reads 1,400 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350ci V8 and backed by a 700R4 four-speed transmission. Engine bay features include a smooth body-color firewall and inner fenders, chrome valve covers, a Walker radiator, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock 650-cfm carburetor, a body-color 1957 Cadillac batwing air cleaner with accent pinstriping, a chrome alternator, March Performance pulleys and brackets, a polished air conditioning compressor, and ceramic-coated headers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The chassis has been modified to accept a Heidts Mustang II front suspension with tubular control arms and Ridetech ShockWave air springs/shocks. The rear end features a solid drive axle, a Panhard bar, a parallel four-link setup, and Ridetech air bags. A Slam Specialties air management system including an aluminum five-gallon air tank and two Viair 480C air compressors have been installed to adjust the suspension height. Braking is provided by four-wheel power discs. A full-length SST Technology dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers exits at the rear.

I see what you are concerned about; so I looked into it. The car has almost a mirror finish and that light area is due to the sun shining directly on it . There are other light areas looking the same. I guess I shouldn't have taken pictures in direct sunlight. I have photos taken in shade and garage that don't show the light area like these I could send you if you like. One shot from left front down the side doesn't show it. Thanks
