One-Owner 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 5-Speed

This one-owner 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 is finished in Monza Red over a gray leather interior. Delivered new by Don Herring Mitsubishi of Dallas, TX, the VR4 is powered by its original twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Pre-ordered by its original owner before its debut, the vehicle is a Premiere Edition, a designation for early production 3000GT’s. Now offered by the selling dealer, the sale includes the original window sticker, dealer brochures, factory literature, service manuals, pre-order correspondence, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Texas title.

 

Finished in Monza Red, the rear of the VR4 was immediately reshaped upon the original owner taking delivery to resemble the HSX concept from which it was designed to feature an active aero spoiler integrated into the body of the car. Outside of the areas addressed to reshape the spoiler, the car retains its original factory finish. Other exterior features include pop-up headlights, fog lamps, a twin tip active exhaust system, and a power antenna.

Factory 17” wheels feature dealer-installed wheel locks and are mounted with 245/45 Sumitomo HTR tires. All VR4 models are equipped with four-wheel steering, while the braking system features anti-lock disc brakes and an electronically adjustable suspension system.

The interior features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with perforated inserts, with matching black door panels, center console, and dash. Floor mats protect gray carpeting, and the center stack features digital climate control, a factory cassette stereo with a five-band equalizer. Additional equipment includes power windows & locks, air conditioning, power steering, and a multifunction steering wheel

The factory instrument panel features a 9K-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an array of indicators. The mechanical six-digit odometer shows approximately 40K miles, which is actual mileage since new.

 

The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 6G72 V6 is mounted transversely and utilizes a dual overhead cam design with 24 valves. When new, power was rated at 300 horsepower and 307 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The factory air intake has been upgraded with a high-flow filter, and the exhaust has been upgraded with a performance unit from HKS; the rest of the engine and systems remain unmodified.

When new, the 3000GT carried an MSRP of $32,355. Included in the sale are numerous letters to and from the original owner regarding the order of the vehicle, factory window sticker, original delivery items, a Premier Edition emblem, and various factory repair manuals & literature
