OVERVIEW

This 1937 Cord 812 Beverly sedan is an older restoration powered by a 289ci Lycoming V8 mated to a three-speed semi-automatic transmission with overdrive. Features include front-wheel drive, hide-away headlights, an independent front suspension, and a crank-vented windshield. Finished in Palm Beach Tan over a wine cloth interior, this Cord is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The Palm Beach Tan exterior features chrome bumpers, manual crank-operated hide-away headlights, pontoon-style front fenders, a crank-out two-panel windshield, dual cowl vents, front suicide doors, a driver-side mirror, rear fender rock guards, and a locking gas cap door. The selling dealer states that there are some paint imperfections, but the body has a nice shine overall. A full walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of tan steel wheels with chrome accent rings and hub caps is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bench seat, rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in wine cloth. Features include an AM radio; manual steering, brakes, and windows; push-button start; and a semi-automatic transmission shifter.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 150-mph speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, amperage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 87,033 miles. The selling dealer believes that is the true mileage, but cannot verify it.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 289ci Lycoming V8 mated to a three-speed semi-automatic transmission with overdrive. The selling dealer states that first, second, and third gears shift as they should, but fourth/overdrive will not engage from the shifter on the steering column. However, the gearbox can still be manually shifted by adjusting the transmission itself. An electric fuel pump has been installed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Cord was factory-equipped with a front drive axle and a solid rear axle. Braking is provided by manual drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
