This 1963 Chevrolet Nova has been modified into a full Pro Street style drag car with a tubular chassis and roll cage, powered by a 433ci Chevrolet Big Block V8 engine with a GMC 871 Blower and NOS system. The car was constructed using an original steel body that is finished in burnt orange metallic. Modifications include a tubbed rear end, racing seats with multi-point harnesses, 4-link rear suspension, parachute, and a line lock system. A fully enclosed Carson trailer is included in the sale, equipped with an electric winch, tool cabinets, and a workbench. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, this Nova Pro Street race car is now offered by the selling dealer.
Finished in a burnt orange huge, the car retains its original steel panels with the exception of a fiberglass hood and decklid. All glass has been replaced with lightweight Lexan, and a large scoop is mounted in the center of the hood. The factory bumpers are retained and finished to match the body. A wing is mounted on the rear decklid, with a DJ parachute located underneath.
Lightweight Weld wheels are wrapped in a staggered setup with a complete set of Goodyear slicks and front runners. A complete set of Hoosier rear street tires and Goodyear front runners are also included in the sale. The rear wheel wells have been fully tubbed to accommodate the large tires, and the car rides on a custom tub chassis from Chris Alston with an integrated roll cage, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a 4-link rear suspension with coil-overs.
Inside, the interior has been stripped for weight savings and outfitted with Jazz seats with 5-point safety harnesses. An emergency brake is centrally mounted between both occupant seats, and a full roll cage protects the interior. A custom floor was fabricated from aluminum, as were the door panels, while the dash was removed. A mount for the nitrous oxide bottle is fitted behind the seats, though a bottle is not included in the sale. The trunk contains the relocated battery as well as the fuel cell for the fuel system.
Instrumentation is mounted in a custom fabricated panel aluminum and includes a centrally mounted Autometer 8K-rpm tachometer is surrounded by gauges for fuel level, voltage, water temperature, oil pressure, and boost. The vehicle is not equipped with an odometer.
Under the hood sits the 433ci Chevrolet big-block V8 engine, equipped with a GMC 871 blower, dual Holley carburetors, and a full NOS system. Custom headers feed into REF mufflers with front fender exhaust, and cooling is provided by an oversized Aluminum radiator with Evans Waterless engine coolant. Additional features include an MSD rev control unit, an Aeromotive electric fuel pump with steel braided lines, and a line lock. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Hughes Power Glide transmission and rear end with a Strange Engineering spool and axles.
Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
A fully enclosed Carson trailer with winch and toolbox is also included in the sale, as shown in the gallery.
