1966 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Plymouth Satellite hardtop draws power from a recently serviced 440ci V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a hood scoop, 17-inch chrome wheels with newer tires, a dual exhaust system, auxiliary gauges, and a center console. Finished in metallic black cherry over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Satellite is now offered by the selling dealer with an owner’s manual, recent service records, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The metallic black cherry exterior features a hood scoop, chrome brightwork, a driver-side mirror, and a dual exhaust system. The selling dealer notes that there is surface rust near a driver-side wheel well and the driver-side door as well as minor blemishes in the overall finish.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Chrome 17-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in 245/45 Falken front and Nitto rear tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cockpit is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats up front, a black vinyl bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include embroidered floor mats, a center console, the reportedly original push-button radio, a heater, and bright door sill plates. The selling dealer reports this car does not have air conditioning.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and factory gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. Aftermarket column-mounted instruments include an 8K-rpm tachometer and gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 90,778 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The upgraded 440ci V8 breathes through an Edelbrock air cleaner and received a new oil pan gasket, a new voltage regulator, and a new rear main seal in December 2022. Power is transferred rearward through a console-shifted TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The selling dealer charges a $347 documentation fee in addition to the price of the car. Residents of Illinois will be required to pay Illinois state sales tax; residents of reciprocal states (Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin) will have to pay the sales tax of their respective states. The sale includes an owner’s manual and recent service records.
