1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Pace Car Convertible 4-Speed

This 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 Pace Car Convertible was built on the 5th week of March 1969 at the Norwood, Ohio plant and one of 3,675 produced with the Z11 Pace Car replica option in 1969. Finished in Dover White with a white convertible top over an orange houndstooth interior, it's powered by a period-correct 396ci V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include a cowl induction hood, rear decklid spoiler, Rally wheels, hideaway headlights, power steering, and power brakes. Located in Thousand Oaks, California, this Z11 convertible is now offered by the selling dealer on a clear California title.

The body is finished in Dover White with Hugger Orange Z/28 stripes and "Offical Pace Car" decals on each door. The white convertible top is in good condition, and the plastic rear window shows no signs of cracking or yellowing. Equipped with the Rally Sport package, the front end features hideaway headlights with a black grille and fog lights mounted underneath the body-colored bumper. Additional features specific to the Z11 Pace Car replica package include white painted rockers and tail panel, ZL2 ducted hood, and the D80 trunk lid spoiler.

Factory 15" Rally wheels are finished in silver and equipped with chrome trim rings and center caps. White-letter Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires are mounted on all four corners. Stopping power is provided by power disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear

All Indy Pace Cars featured the Z87 custom interior, which consists of orange vinyl seats with houndstooth inserts, orange interior panels, and black carpet. The center console houses the polished shifter for the 4-speed transmission, surrounded by Woodgrain veneer. Woodgrain is also featured across the dash face and on the glove box on the passenger side. Additional features include deluxe seatbelts, 3-spoke sport steering wheel, and AM/FM radio.

Instrumentation includes a 120mph speedometer and a 7k rpm tachometer. Additional gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located in the center console. The 5-digit analog odometer reads just over 51,800, which are claimed as original and actual by the seller.

Power is provided by a period-correct L34 396ci V8 engine rated at 350 horsepower when new. An aluminum radiator was added for improved cooling, but many original components such as the chrome valve covers and cowl induction air cleaner. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.
