OVERVIEW
This 48,835-mile 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne is equipped with its reportedly original 283ci V8 and Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Features include the original AM radio, a rear speaker, and power steering. Finished in Silver Blue Metallic and Snowcrest White over a two-tone blue vinyl and cloth interior, this Biscayne is available now and comes from the selling dealer with an owner’s manual and a clear Florida title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Silver Blue Metallic and Snowcrest White finish is mostly original, according to the selling dealer. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver-side mirror, rain guards, Biscayne side trim and emblems, and the original selling dealer's nameplate.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of body-color steel wheels with full hub caps is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bench seat and the rear seat are upholstered in two-tone blue vinyl and cloth. Features include factory power steering, manual brakes and windows, a column-mounted automatic shifter, the original AM radio with a rear speaker, a tissue dispenser, and a cigar lighter.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. A clock is on the right side of the dashboard. The odometer reads 48,835 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate and documented on the title.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the original 283ci V8 and backed by the original Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission, according to the selling dealer. Engine bay features include orange engine block finish, orange Chevrolet-script valve covers, a generator-driven power steering pump, cast iron rams horn-style exhaust manifolds, and a tar top-style battery.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Biscayne was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include the owner’s manual as part of the sale. A $600 documentation fee will be added to the sale price of the car. The metal VIN tag is attached with newer aftermarket rivets.

If this is “mostly original” paint, why was the VIN plate removed? Were the door jambs repainted? Is there a picture of the VIN plate ‘before’ it was removed?

The car is located in Palmetto Florida. We have no way of knowing how many owners on a car this old. Car is currently in Florida, prior state according to the title was Ohio. It is incredibly solid throughout. We have plenty of underside photos with it on a lift. This car is very, very nice and it runs/drives out great. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this car, honestly.
where is the car located? what is the history on the car? how many owners? where did the car spend most of its life climate wise? the car looks very nice.....not sure i will get a chance to view the car in person since this is tax season and i am a CPA.
@Iraq2004 – This is a beautiful '58 and is the model I learned to drive on--Just a few questions: Is it a turn key vehicle and ready to drive as is? Do the accessories all work? What remains to be worked on, if anything, and what imperfections exist? Is there anything more known about the history of the car? Many thanks in advance--MJH ...
The car is turn key, runs and drives great! To the best of my memory everything on the car works as it should, but I can certainly check that. The paint is original, so it is not perfect, but it is a solid 8 out of 10. It is documented actual mileage of 44,000 and in incredible shape inside and out.
