OVERVIEW
This 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Silver Arrow convertible sends power from a 5.0-liter V8 through a five-speed automatic transmission to the rear 18-inch wheels. The Silver Arrow Metallic exterior is equipped with the AMG Styling Package, which adds exclusive lower bodywork at both ends and the sides. Other features include fog lights, Xenon headlights, a removable body-color hardtop with a glass rear window, and a single exhaust outlet. The selling dealer believes the fully lined, power-operated black soft top was replaced by the previous owner, but does not know if the hydraulics were replaced. INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with heated, power-adjustable black and silver Nappa leather seats with memory settings, a matching steering wheel, maple wood trim, power mirrors and windows, an AM/FM radio with a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, and automatic climate control with air conditioning. The selling dealer notes the driver-side door trim and the wood trim on the center console needs repair.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
An engine-turned bezel surrounds a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, fuel economy, and oil pressure. The six-digit digital odometer shows 42,013 miles, which is in line with the latest mileage figure on the CARFAX report.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Under the hood is a 5.0-liter V8. A five-speed automatic transmission delivers the engine’s output to the road. The selling dealer states the car was serviced and given an oil change in December 2022.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The power braking system is equipped with drilled rotors and silver calipers. In June 2020, the front and rear pads and rotors were replaced, according to the CARFAX report.
