1985 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE

OVERVIEW

This restored 1985 Volkswagen Beetle was manufactured for the Mexican market and is powered by a 1,600cc flat-four engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Features include one-piece door windows, custom wheels, updated headlights, flush-fit glass, pop-out quarter windows, and bucket seats. Finished in gray over a brick-red vinyl interior, this Beetle is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear Arkansas title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the exterior was refinished in gray. Features include color-matched bumpers with black trim and tinted front turn signals; updated headlights with body-color trim rings; matte black hood trim, side trim, and hood and door handles; color-matched running boards with black trim; flush-fit front and rear glass; a driver-side mirror; one-piece door windows; pop-out quarter windows; and red and clear taillights.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch EMPI Sprintstar-style MS Vintage wheels is wrapped in 205/60 radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seats, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in brick-red vinyl. Features include manual windows, steering, and brakes; a radio block-off plate; a four-spoke Grant steering wheel with a black grip; and a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 90-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 138 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 1,600cc flat-four engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include a dual-port intake manifold, a single carburetor, a chrome air filter, and a matte black doghouse. An oil change was completed about one month ago.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Beetle is equipped with a lowered four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive axle. Braking is provided by four-wheel manual drums. The exhaust exits at the rear through dual outlets.
