OVERVIEW
This 1966 MG Midget has been with the seller for 31 years and was reportedly put through a $29,717 restoration completed in the mid-2000s. It is powered by a rebuilt 1,100cc inline-four engine backed by a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. Features include an AM radio, a wood shift knob, wire wheels, and rebuilt carburetors. Finished in British Racing Green and equipped with a black convertible top over a black vinyl interior, this MG is available now and comes with a seller-written vehicle history, original service records, restoration receipts, a flash drive of restoration photos, owner's and shop manuals, a cockpit tonneau cover, a car cover, and a clear Arizona title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the two-year restoration, the exterior was repaired and refinished in the reportedly original color of British Racing Green. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, full-length body side trim, a driver-side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, and MG emblems. The seller states that during the restoration, rusted areas were cut out and replacement steel was welded in place.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of silver original MG knock-off wire wheels is wrapped in Kumho Power Star 758 radial tires that have accrued approximately 500 miles.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl with white piping. Features include manual brakes, steering, and windows; a three-spoke steering wheel with a black grip; a wood shift knob; and an AM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. With 557 miles added during current ownership, the rolled-over odometer reads 4,905 miles. That equates to 104,905 miles. which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
According to the seller, this car was rebuilt by Quality Coaches, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Power is provided by a 1,098cc inline-four engine that has been bored to displace 1,100cc; that comes paired with a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, an oil change was completed 206 miles ago. In December 2022, the twin carburetors were rebuilt; the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires were replaced; the fuel lines were re-hosed; the fuel pump banjos were replaced; and a general tune-up was completed. The seller states an electronic ignition system has been installed and the car has been converted from positive to negative earth.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This MG was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums.

@Azguy238 – This is a lovely little car, but not an MG 1100....an 1100 is a small two or four door sedan. This is a MG MIDGET....how do I know, I bought one brand new...my first new car. Wish I still had it. ...
You are correct. I'm selling an MG Midget as it says in the headline. I don't write the ad, AutoHunter does this for me. I think they wanted to acknowledge the the original 1098cc engine was rebored to a larger unknown size slightly greater than 1098cc, so they chose 1100cc.
@Jagmania50 – In the overview it states that the car comes with a black convertible top. Is there or isn’t there a convertible top for this car? ...
The convertible top is the black tonneau cover. The frame and cover were too badly damaged when I acquired the MG. As I only drove the MG in "nice" weather I never saw the need to replace it. I just checked on Moss Motors and both the frame and cover are available for about $1k total.

@Dukeofearl@1980 – There is only one picture with the top on for driving. I see the one that snaps on for storage but there is a top for driving as well, correct? ...
