1971 Acadian Coupe

OVERVIEW

This 1971 Acadian coupe was restored under previous ownership in 2007 and has been with the seller since 2008. It was reportedly produced in the fifth week of December 1970. Power comes from a fuel-injected 427ci V8 backed by a TH200-4R four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power four-wheel disc brakes, a FiTech Go Street electronic fuel injection system, and American Racing wheels. Finished in Sunflower Yellow with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Acadian is available now and comes with receipts and a clear New Mexico title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in Sunflower Yellow with black stripes 17 years ago. Features include chrome bumpers, a big-block hood with chrome trim, 427 engine call-out emblems, a remote-adjustable driver-side mirror, rocker trim, and finned rear body trim.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 17-inch American Racing Magnum-style aluminum wheels with black accents is wrapped in 205/50/17 front and 235/55/17 rear radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bench seat, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include a Chevrolet Camaro tilt steering column with an automatic shifter, power brakes, simulated woodgrain accents, and manual windows. The seller states that the dashboard needs to be replaced, the package tray speakers do not work, and the original gauge cluster bezel has cracks in it.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 117,349 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate. The seller states there are 6,000 miles on the upgraded engine and that they have added approximately 12,000 miles to the car in their 15 years of ownership. Aftermarket auxiliary instrumentation includes a tachometer, voltmeter, and engine temperature and oil pressure gauges.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

A 427ci V8 was installed in 2012 and sends power to the rear wheels through a TH200-4R four-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include a FiTech Go Street electronic fuel injection system, chrome valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, and an aluminum intake. The seller states that the oil was changed approximately 2,000 miles ago.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Acadian is equipped with an independent front suspension, a 12-bolt GM solid rear drive axle with Positraction and 3.73:1 gearing, multi-leaf rear springs, adjustable rear shocks, and front and rear anti-roll bars. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
