OVERVIEW
This 1987 Chevrolet V10 Silverado underwent an exterior and interior refurbishment that included a repaint and new interior components. It is powered by a fuel-injected 5.7-liter V8 backed by a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Power features include the steering, brakes, windows, and locks. Additional features include 31-inch Mickey Thompson tires, cruise control, air conditioning, a spray-in bed liner, and a Sony AM/FM stereo. Finished in metallic purple over a red vinyl and cloth interior, this Chevrolet truck is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear North Carolina title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the refurbishment process completed in 2022, this V10 was refinished in dark cherry metallic. Features include chrome bumpers with front bumper guards, a front air dam, a color-matched grille, chrome wheel well and side trim, folding mirrors, side steps, a short fleetside pickup box, a black spray-in bed liner, and chrome bed rails. The selling dealer states that the exterior paint is considered a high-quality, driver-grade paint job and notes that orange peel is present. An exterior walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch aluminum wheels is wrapped in 31” x 10.50” x 15” Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 all-terrain radial tires. The selling dealer states that the tires have good tread and 2017 date codes.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior features a replacement bench seat covered in red vinyl and cloth, a new red dash pad, and new red carpeting. Power features include the steering, brakes, windows, and locks. Additional features include a tilt steering column with an automatic transmission shifter, cruise control, a Sony AM/FM stereo, air conditioning, and a floor-mounted transfer case shifter.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
An 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The five-digit odometer reads 11,074 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The last mileage figure logged on the CARFAX report in October 2020 was 42,451 miles. A potential odometer rollover was recorded at 42,450 miles in August 2018.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a fuel-injected 5.7-liter V8 and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Silverado is equipped with a solid front axle, a solid rear drive axle, and part-time four-wheel drive. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system with catalytic convertors exits at the rear through chrome outlets. The selling dealer states that there is normal surface rust on the underbody components.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report starts on March 3, 1987 and shows an accident-free history with ownership in North Carolina.

@Punkin – Chevy never made a V10. Stated later that it's 250V8.???????? C'mon man! ...
So V10 isn't the size of the engine. That's the model of truck. Starting in 1987 GM changed it from the C and K designations to V and R. I did a quick google search and here's the best explanation I can find. - Chevrolet switched their normal naming in 1987 from the K series (K10, K20, K30) for four-wheel drive trucks and C Series (C10, C20, C30) for two-wheel drive trucks to the V series (V10, V20, V30) for 4WD and R series for 2WD (R10, R20, R30) This same change was made to the Suburban and Blazer and the GMC Sierra and Jimmy. GM only kept the V and R naming for five years, so any truck made between 1987 and 1991 will use these names (GM changed the naming in 1989 to the more modern 1500/ 2500/ 3500 naming scheme, so any 1989, 1990 or 1991 truck will be a V1500/ V2500/ V3500 or R1500/ R2500/ R3500.
