Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro was featured in Camaro Performers magazine and is powered by a 421ci small-block V8 backed by a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Features include a Mark Williams Enterprises rear end, Santhuff adjustable shocks, JAZ Products fiberglass racing seats, a B&M shifter, a Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) setup, dual Holley 1050-cfm carburetors, a roll cage, Wilwood disc brakes, and a parachute. Finished in yellow with white stripes over a two-tone gray fabric and vinyl interior, this first-year Camaro is available now and comes with a copy of the magazine it was featured in and a clear Illinois title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration in 2004, the exterior was refinished in yellow with white stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, an RS grille with hide-away headlights, a cowl-induction hood, a driver-side mirror, a rear spoiler, and a rear-mounted parachute. The second video below shows an exterior and interior tour of the car.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15” x 4” front and 15” x 15” rear aluminum Bogart Force 5 wheels is wrapped in 27” x 4.5” front and 32” x 17.5” rear Mickey Thompson ET Street radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

A pair of JAZ Products fiberglass racing bucket seats and the custom sculpted door panels are upholstered in two-tone gray tweed and vinyl. Features include manual windows, a floor-mounted B&M automatic transmission shifter, a Corey Jennings center console housing a switch box, and a body-color roll cage. Additional features include manual steering and brakes, nitrous oxide bottles, a Crane Cams DEC9000 digital engine controller, an aluminum Lecarra steering wheel, an Advanced Performance Industries fire suppression system, and Crow Safety Gear belts. A fuel cell and an Optima Yellowtop battery are mounted in the trunk.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge are mounted in a body-color panel ahead of the driver. A center panel contains AutoMeter gauges for the fuel pressure, nitrous pressure, exhaust temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. A 9K-rpm AutoMeter tachometer is mounted under the dashboard. With 2,000 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 48,000 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 421ci small-block V8 built by George Koopal Racing Engines and backed by a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Engine features include a Callies crankshaft, Bill Miller Engineering (BME) connecting rods, 15.6:1 compression, JE forged aluminum pistons, a Crane Cams camshaft, a Moroso oiling system, and a CSI water pump. Additional features include chrome-plated Moroso sheet metal valve covers, a polished aluminum intake, dual 1,050-cfm Holley Dominator carburetors, a Nitrous Oxide Systems 250-500-hp Pro Shot Fogger nitrous kit, a Crane HI7 ignition, and Dawson exhaust headers. A fresh oil change and tune-up were recently completed. A video of the engine running can be seen below.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Camaro is equipped with an independent front suspension stub and a 4.56:1 Mark Williams Enterprises rear end mounted with an adjustable chrome four-link setup and Santhuff adjustable shocks. Braking is provided by manual Wilwood four-wheel discs. The 4.5-inch Tom Dawson exhaust system is equipped with a pair of Flowmaster Top Ten race mufflers.
