OVERVIEW
This frame-off-restored 1968 GMC C1500 short-box truck with air conditioning is powered by a rebuilt 350ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Features include power front disc brakes, power steering, a relocated fuel tank, and a tilt steering column. Finished in metallic blue over a light blue vinyl and cloth interior, this GMC truck is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration, the exterior was finished in metallic blue. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, dual mirrors, a cowl-mounted antenna, side and wheel well trim, a shaved cab-mounted fuel filler neck, a short fleetside pickup box with a custom fuel filler door, and a smooth tailgate.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of five-spoke 15-inch American Racing aluminum wheels with gray centers and polished lips is wrapped in 245/60/15 BFGoodrich radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the restoration process, the bench seat was reupholstered in light blue vinyl with cloth inserts. Features include light blue vinyl door panels with manual windows, a tilt steering column with an automatic transmission shifter, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and a digital Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 2,843 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. According to the selling dealer, this truck has covered fewer than 500 miles since being restored.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a rebuilt 350ci V8 and backed by an automatic transmission. Engine bay features include orange valve covers and intake manifold, a black air cleaner, and a windshield washer.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This pickup was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a trailing arm-mounted solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear through chrome outlets. The fuel tank has been moved to the rear of the frame.

@Deeluxe – Stunning truck! SO much to love here! Couple questions: 1. Is this a factory original shortbed, or has it been shortened? 2. The listing says that the fuel tank has been relocated to the rear, presumably out of the cab behind the seat, which is a fantastic improvement. However, the fuel filler door and opening as well as the area inside it looks very OEM. Can anyone explain this? Thanks! ...
Unknown if this was a factory short box. The RPO sticker on the glove box would have told us more information if it was still on the truck. Unforcently when it was painted that was removed in the past. Usually, if you have a Glovebox sticker and a Frame Vin & Cab Vin you could say it was all original. Without those 3 vins very hard to say. The Fuel Filler Door with gas cap is done to look like a factory upgrade.

@Steventexas – Vin is incomplete. Missing 7 numbers ...
The VIN is 100% correct for a 1968 GMC C1500. The NHTSA has required all vehicles manufactured since 1981 to be assigned a 17-digit VIN number. Prior to 1981, there was no VIN standard. VIN formats, including length and encoded vehicle details, would vary across different manufacturers.
