OVERVIEW
This 1958 Volkswagen Beetle is powered by a 1.2-liter flat four-cylinder mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a four-inch narrowed front beam, a Thermador car cooler, rear window louvers, a Vintage Speed roof rack, and an under-dashboard parcel shelf. Finished in Coral Red over a tan and beige vinyl interior, this Beetle comes from the selling dealer with invoices, receipts, a certificate from the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen confirming the production date and equipment, the removed original wheels with Coker whitewall tires, chrome VW hubcaps, the removed original front beam, and a clear Missouri title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was refinished in Coral Red in the late 1980s. Features include chrome bumpers, glass-covered Hella headlights, chrome swan-neck rearview mirrors, an additional driver-side mirror, a cowl-mounted antenna, a Vintage Speed wood-slat roof rack, black running boards, mudflaps, and an accessory rear stop light. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of copper-plated 15-inch steel wheels is wrapped in recently replaced 165/50 front and 195/65 rear radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in tan and beige vinyl. Features include manual brakes and steering, manual windows, Coral Red interior metal surfaces, an under-dashboard parcel shelf, rear window blinds, a floor-mounted shifter, an AM radio, and a three-spoke banjo steering wheel with a nonfunctional horn.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
An 80-mph speedometer is located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 55,754 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 1.2-liter flat four-cylinder mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. According to the selling dealer, service performed under previous ownership included an engine oil change and the installation of new spark plugs.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Volkswagen is equipped with a four-inch narrowed independent front suspension beam and an independent rear drive transaxle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums.
