Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1959 Pontiac Catalina Safari station wagon was previously with the same owner since 1970. It is powered by a 347ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. Equipment includes power steering, power drum brakes, a dual exhaust system, a radio, and chrome Ridler wheels with new tires. Refinished in Canyon Copper over a refurbished two-tone tan and burgundy vinyl interior, this Catalina is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The body has been repainted in its reportedly original color of Canyon Copper.  Exterior features include quad headlights, a split grille, an antenna, chrome brightwork, "Catalina" script badging, a drop-down tailgate, and a dual exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Chrome 17-inch five-spoke Ridler wheels are wrapped in new 225/45 Achilles radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The six-passenger interior is fitted with two reupholstered tan and burgundy vinyl bench seats, complemented by matching door panels and brown carpeting. Amenities include a radio, vent windows, chrome trim, and a vinyl-lined rear cargo area.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a centrally mounted 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit analog odometer reads 99,999 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 347ci V8 is fed by a two-barrel carburetor and directs power to the rear wheels via a column-shifted automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The steering and four-wheel drum braking systems are power-assisted.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

A $145 dealer fee/tax will be added to the purchase price. The selling dealer will collect additional registration/sales tax from in-state buyers. They have provided a video below that includes an introduction, a cold start, and a virtual walk-around.

@Daral – Can you please send me a better picture of tailgate upper trim on door. It looks dented on my iPad Thanks. Daral ...

The rear trim isn't perfect but it's decent. Not sure I can figure out how to post a picture but at around the 5:30 mark in the video, you should get a decent vantage point of that spot.

Great looking wagon... love the body shape and the 'very Pontiac' front... GLWTA
