OVERVIEW
This 1966 Chevrolet El Camino coupe utility has been with the same owner since 2011. It is powered by a 283ci small-block V8 mated to a rebuilt 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with polished headers, a Mallory distributor, and power front disc brakes. Upgrades include a tilt-adjustable steering column, 15-inch polished aluminum wheels, a dual exhaust system, and a vinyl tonneau cover. Finished in red over a red vinyl interior, this second-generation El Camino is now offered by the selling dealer with service records, an owner’s manual, and a clear Virginia title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior has been repainted red and outfitted with chrome bumpers, rocker moldings, badging, and window trim. Features include quad headlights, a snap-on vinyl tonneau cover, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Five-spoke 15-inch polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in 225/60 front and 245/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with a red vinyl bench seat, which matches the door panels and padded dash. Amenities include floor mats, lap belts, an ididit tilt-adjustable steering column with a Grant wheel, a floor-mounted aftermarket cupholder, a dome light, and an AM/FM radio that is connected to speakers in custom enclosures behind the seat.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The selling dealer states that the odometer does not work. A trio of Sunpro auxiliary gauges below the dashboard show readouts for the oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 283ci small-block V8 has been upgraded with polished headers and a Mallory electronic distributor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 200-R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a heavy-duty torque converter.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The included service records show the work performed on the suspension in 2012, which included the replacement of the rear coil springs and trailing arms, the front coil springs, idler arms, tie rods, and other components. Stopping is performed by power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer has provided a video with an exterior walk-around, a look inside the engine bay, a start-up, and a driving demonstration. The sale includes an owner's manual and service records.

You're welcome. It is in both of our interests to provide as much information as we can.
@classiccarcenter – When our customer, a car collector, bought the El Camino on 12/08/11, the odometer read "00000/0"--as it does today. Rather than register it with zero mileage and possibly mislead some future owner, he registered it as "100000" "exceeds". He doesn't know what the actual mileage is. Regarding color, when he bought the vehicle it was red and he had it repainted in red to upgrade the quality of the finish. The trim tag shows that the El Camino left the factory painted in torquoise (code KK). Since we are not a body shop we are unable to confirm whether the the El Camino has been accident-free during its 57 year history, but there is no indication that there is any accident damage to the body as the pictures reveal. We have provided pictures of the underside as well. "" ...

@classiccarcenter – Unfortunately, unless we have records since a vehicle is new that corroborate the reading on the odometer, we cannot be sure what the actual mileage is. We have service records dating back to 2012. ...
OK. It was repainted in Red; BUT was that the original color? You have Service Records back to 2012. About how many miles was the last odometer reading and date from the service records BEFORE the odometer quit? Has the vehicle ever been in an accident or had bodywork?
@gedupont – Any idea how many miles? Are red exterior/red interior the original colors? Any bodywork/accidents? ...
