Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1955 Chevrolet 210 two-door station wagon was treated to a restoration that covered the exterior, interior, engine, undercarriage, suspension, and other areas. It is powered by an upgraded 350ci small-block V8 paired with a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission and comes with 15-inch Cragar wheels, a CD stereo, Edelbrock engine components, and a heavy-duty driveshaft. Finished in metallic maroon over a black vinyl interior, this 210 wagon is now offered with a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration in the 1990s, the exterior was refinished in maroon metallic. According to the seller, the refurbishment leveraged OEM, reproduction, and high-quality aftermarket parts. Equipment includes chrome brightwork, dual mirrors, a two-piece tailgate, and a dual exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Cragar 15-inch chrome wheels are wrapped in 215/75 Goodyear Invicta GL raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with dual black vinyl benches, matched to the door panels, dash, and headliner. Features include bowtie-branded all-weather floor mats, aluminum dash trim, an AM/FM/CD stereo, an analog clock, a heater, and a fold-down rear seat.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer, supplementary dash-mounted gauges, and a column-mounted tachometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 33,533 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 350ci small-block V8 uses Edelbrock components for the air cleaner and valve covers. The seller states that routine oil changes have been performed. Power is sent to the back wheels via a floor-shifted Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission, a balanced heavy-duty driveshaft, and a 10-bolt rear differential.

UNDERCARRIAGE

@Bertucci – I was kt the person to restore the car, however I did know the gentleman, he has since passed but this is the explaination; At time of restoration the body was separated from the frame. All body and sub frame bushings have been replaced, All replacement components are either OEM, OEM reproduction, or quality aftermarket parts. Restoration included exterior, engine, drivetrain, undercarriage and suspension, interior, wheels and tires, mechanical, and electrical. The car had been in long term storage for several years, I am unsure if the donor car was a California car, however the car stayed in winter storage throughout the life of its rebuild and only taken out during warm months and only to drive to car shows. ...

How much of the car had rust repair during the restoration? Were there portions of the floorboards and body panels replaced? Is this a Midwest or west coast car?

Hello everyone, here is a video I took of the car idling, interior, and ignition. Full disclosure I still had the choke on when it was idling; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy9JkDvHz5M
