2.1L 1963 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE RAGTOP WITH TRAILER

OVERVIEW

This 1963 Volkswagen Beetle ragtop underwent an exterior and interior restoration along with the installation of dual luggage racks, a modern Pioneer audio system, whitewall tires, and an aftermarket exhaust. It comes paired with a color-matched cargo trailer. Power is supplied by a dual-carbureted air-cooled 2,110cc flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Gulf Blue over a blue vinyl interior with white piping, this Beetle is now offered by the selling dealer with period-correct luggage and a clear Virginia title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration process, the body was recoated in Gulf Blue. Features include fog lamps, a pull-back cloth sunroof, chrome bumpers, dual mirrors, running boards, roof-mounted and rear luggage racks, pop-out rear windows, and an aftermarket exhaust system with twin outlets. The selling dealer notes that there are some minor imperfections consistent with an older restoration, but the finishes are in good condition overall. The color-matched fiberglass cargo trailer has a pop-open lid, a carpeted floor insert, and bullet-style taillights.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Color-matched steel wheels with chrome VW-branded hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is fitted with reupholstered blue vinyl low-back bucket seats up front and a matching bench in the rear. White accents are featured on the door panels and the steering wheel. Amenities include lap belts, wood-look floor mats, a passenger-side grab-handle, and a push-button radio along with a hidden, remote-controlled Pioneer Premier radio connected to tweeters and a JL Audio subwoofer.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The VDO-branded instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The odometer reads 12,247 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The rear-mounted air-cooled 2,110cc flat-four is fed via dual carburetors and transfers power to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transaxle.
