302-POWERED 1933 FORD SPEEDSTER

OVERVIEW

This custom-built 1933 Ford Speedster convertible features four-wheel disc brakes, American Racing wheels, a dual exhaust system, a Jensen stereo, and an Edelbrock carburetor. Power is provided by a 302ci V8 mated to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a nine-inch rear end. Accents include a body-colored undercarriage and chrome engine bay elements. Finished in red and equipped with a tan canvas Rod Tops removable top over a two-tone red and tan vinyl interior, this Speedster is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear California title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior has been channeled two inches and consists of a fiberglass body, a steel hood, and steel side panels. Features include a tan canvas Rod Tops removable top, shaved door handles, rear-hinged doors, a color-keyed teardrop grille, dual side mirrors, a Duvall two-panel windshield, slim LED taillights, and a dual exhaust system. The selling dealer notes minor paint imperfections including a blemish near the windshield and one near where the soft top meets the body.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

The 14-inch front and 15-inch rear American Racing five-spoke polished aluminum wheels with Ford-branded center caps are wrapped in 185/60 National tires up front and 31" x 10.50" Continental tires at the back.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-seat cockpit uses two-tone tan and red ostrich-patterned vinyl bench seating, complemented by tan carpeting and matching floor mats. Amenities include a Lecarra leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Jensen AM/FM/CD head unit with four speakers, and lap belts. The carpeted trunk contains the battery, which is protected by a plastic enclosure.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The VDO instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and accompanying gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 21,000 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The side-hinged hood opens to a 302ci V8 which has been upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock air cleaner, ribbed valve covers, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and an electric fuel pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a nine-inch rear end with 2.73:1 gears.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes connected to a Wilwood master cylinder, all-new calipers, and new rear rotors. Suspension components include a four-bar setup, adjustable Aldan American coilovers, and a four-inch chrome drop axle up front.
