OVERVIEW
This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu two-door hardtop was treated to a frame-off restoration that included refurbishment of the exterior, interior, and drivetrain just before the selling dealer purchased the vehicle. It is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Features include Flowmaster dual exhaust system, American Racing wheels and air conditioning. Finished in Dark Aqua Green over a black vinyl interior, this first-year Chevelle in top-line Malibu trim is now offered by the selling dealer with a car cover and a clear Ohio title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Malibu two-door hardtop’s fresh coat of Dark Aqua Green paint was applied during the frame-off restoration, as were the replacement exterior accents for the chrome and other brightwork. Features include quad headlights, driver side-view mirror, antenna, scripted Malibu emblems, and Flowmaster dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
American Racing 15-inch five-spoke wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in newer BFGoodrich Radial T/A 215/70-sized raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with reupholstered black vinyl bench seats complemented by matching door panels, dashboard and carpeting. Options include lap belts, newer air conditioning, textured instrument panel bezel, and radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 52,632 miles, although the selling dealer states that true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 283ci V8 is said to be date-correct, and the selling dealer notes that the fluids, lights and mechanical systems were inspected in March 2023 and found to be in proper order. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
